Już dziesięć lat temu pojawił się u nas legendarny dyrektor sportowy Han Vaanhold ze swoim holenderskim Cyclingteam Jo Piels. Jego zawodnicy zdominowali wyścig w 2012 (Maurits Lammertink) i w 2013 (Stefan Poutsma) oraz w 2015 (Tim Ariesen). Teraz Han prowadzi Sensa Cyclingteam, a ich największym sukcesem ostatnich lat, była klasyfikacja górska, którą wygrał w 2019 Gijs Leemreize. W następnej edycji będzie sporo gór, tak aby Sensa mogła powtórzyć ten wyczyn.
W 2014 odbył się pierwszy w historii Karpacki Wyścig Kurierów, który przejechał przez cztery kraje wyszehradzkie. A wygrał go Austriak, Gregor Mühlberger z Tirol Cycling Team. Podobna trasa szykowana jest na przyszły rok, a na starcie ponownie stanie austriacki Tirol KTM Cycling Team, który jako młodzieżowy partner BORA Hansgrohe, wystawi zapewne bardzo ambitny skład.
Tadej Pogačar, Jan Tratnik, Jan Polanc, Luka Mezgec, to tylko niektórzy wychowankowie Ljubljana Gusto Santic, którzy zdobyli międzynarodową sławę, zaczynając, na jakże obfitej kolarsko, Słowenii. Tadej Pogačar jest najsłynniejszym zawodnikiem „Kurierów”, który w 2017 w barwach ROG Ljubljana, wygrał klasyfikację U-21 całego wyścigu. We present the last trio before Christmas, a trio of extraordinary teams that have forever entered the history of our race. The history of the race, which has been rewritten since 2009, and the teams described below will add more pages to it in the 40th edition in 2023.
Already ten years ago, the legendary sports director Han Vaanhold came to us with his Dutch Cyclingteam Jo Piels. His riders dominated the race in 2012 (Maurits Lammertink) and in 2013 (Stefan Poutsma) as well as in 2015 (Tim Ariesen). Now Han leads the Sensa Cyclingteam, and their greatest success in recent years was the mountain classification, which was won in 2019 by Gijs Leemreize. In the next edition there will be a lot of mountains so that Sensa can repeat this feat.
In 2014, the first ever Carpathian Couriers Race took place, which traveled through four Visegrad countries. And it was won by the Austrian, Gregor Mühlberger from the Tirol Cycling Team. A similar route is being prepared for next year, and at the starting line will again appear the Austrian Tirol KTM Cycling Team, which, as the youth partner of BORA Hansgrohe, will probably field a very ambitious team.
Tadej Pogačar, Jan Tratnik, Jan Polanc, Luka Mezgec are just some of the pupils of Ljubljana Gusto Santic who have gained international fame, starting in Slovenia, which is so rich in terms of cycling. Tadej Pogačar is the most famous rider of the „Couriers”, who in 2017 won the U-21 classification of the entire race in the colours of ROG Ljubljana. The team from Ljubljana is the 12th team invited to the start list in 2023.
