Święto Konstytucji – Feast of the Constitution

Yesterday, through the national federations, the organizers of the races from the UCI calendar were required to provide the proposed dates for the next season. The Carpathian Couriers Race, after two years of the pandemic, returns to its basic date, i.e. the turn of April and May. So, in 2022, we start on April 29 and end traditionally on the Constitution Day, which is May 3.
Exactly on the same days, the memorable 2016 edition of the „Couriers” took place. 33rd edition marked with beautiful Polish victories at stages (Alan Banaszek and Michał Paluta), audacious theft of Sir Wiggins’ team bikes, honorable guests (Patrick Lefevere and Zdeněk Štybar), premiere of the Slovak Trenczyńskie Cieplice on the route of the event, historic victory of a New Zealander (Hamish Schreurs) and above all, the drama of Gijs Verdick, who we still remember.
The 39th edition of the Carpathian Couriers Race will probably start in Poland and end… As part of the Covid experience, apart from the classic date (29/04 – 03/05/2022), we also have five reserve summer days on 27 – 31/08/2022.
However, there is still the next edition to be done, and attached there are some photos from the memorable days of April 29 – May 3, 2016.

Wczoraj za pośrednictwem federacji narodowych, organizatorzy wyścigów z kalendarza UCI, byli zobowiązani podać proponowane terminy na przyszły sezon. Karpacki Wyścig Kurierów po dwóch latach pandemii, wraca do swojego podstawowego terminu, czyli do przełomu kwietnia i maja. Zatem w 2022 roku startujemy 29 kwietnia, a kończymy tradycyjnie w Święto Konstytucji, czyli  3 maja.

Dokładnie w tych samych dniach odbyła się pamiętna edycja „Kurierów” w 2016 roku. 33 edycja zaznaczona pięknymi polskimi wygranymi na etapach (Alan Banaszek i Michał Paluta), zuchwałą kradzieżą rowerów Teamu Sir Wigginsa, zacnymi gośćmi (Patrick Lefevere i Zdeněk Štybar), premierą słowackich Trenczyńskich Cieplic na trasie imprezy, historyczna wygraną Nowozelandczyka (Hamish Schreurs), ale przede wszystkich dramatem Gijs Verdicka’a, którego cały czas pamiętamy.

39 edycja Karpackiego Wyścigu Kurierów rozpocznie się prawdopodobnie w Polsce, a zakończy… W ramach covidowych doświadczeń, oprócz klasycznego terminu (29.04 – 03.05.2022), mamy również pięć rezerwowych, wakacyjnych dni 27 – 31.08.2022.

Przed nami jednak jeszcze do zrobienia najbliższa edycja, a w załączeniu przypominamy kilka zdjęć z pamiętnych dni 29.04 – 3.05.2016 roku.
