Siedem miesięcy do 37 edycji!

Przed nami kolejna odsłona Karpackiego Wyścigu Kurierów. Wyścigu, który w przyszłym roku będzie obchodził jubileusz 45 lat od startu pierwszej edycji. 45 lat i dopiero 37 edycja?
Tak, bo w długiej i niejednokrotnie trudnej historii wyścigu, odbyły się nieprzerwanie 24 edycje w latach 1975 – 1998, potem była przerwa w 1999 roku, następnie próba kontynuacji w 2000 roku (25 edycja) oraz odwołany wyścig w 2002 roku i… upadek projektu „Kurierzy”.
Odrodzenie się wyścigu w 2009 roku (26 edycja), to równoczesne podwyższenie kategorii wiekowej do 23 lat, zmiana nazwy i stałe miejsce w kalendarzu UCI Europe Tour. Wyścig z 2010 roku, to ponownie wydarzenie polsko – słowackie; wyścig z 2012 roku, to już sprawa polsko – słowacko – czeska; wyścig z roku 2014 roku (31 edycja), to już w pełni wyszehradzkie wydarzenie i sportowe przypomnienie kurierów Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego: Węgry, Słowacja, Czechy i Polska.
37 edycja, która odbędzie się w dniach 28 kwietnia do 3 maja 2020 roku, poświęcona będzie pamięci Wacława Felczaka (1916-1993) słynnego kuriera oraz profesora Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Rozpocznie się na Węgrzech, potem będą górzyste etapy słowackie, a zakończy się oczywiście w Polsce.

Seven months to 37th edition!
The next part of the Carpathian Courier Race is ahead of us. The race, which next year will celebrate its 45th anniversary since the start of the first edition. 45 years and only the 37th edition?
Yes, because in the long and often difficult history of the race, 24 editions took place continuously in the years 1975 – 1998, then there was a break in 1999, an attempt to continue in 2000 (the 25th edition), cancellation of the race in 2002 and … the collapse of the ‘Couriers’ project.
The revival of the race in 2009 (26th edition) is a simultaneous increase of the age category to 23 years, change of name and permanent place in the UCI Europe Tour calendar. The 2010 race is again a Polish-Slovak event; the 2012 race is already a Polish – Slovak – Czech Republic thing; the 2014 race (31st edition) is a fully Visegrad event and a sport reminder of couriers of the Polish Underground State: Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland.
The 37th edition, which will take place from April 28 to May 3, 2020, will be devoted to the memory of Wacław Felczak (1916-1993) the famous courier and professor of the Jagiellonian University. It will start in Hungary, then there will be mountainous Slovak stages, and of course it will end in Poland.
