Nie Austriak, nie Włoch, nie Słowak i nie Polak, ale właśnie zawodnik z nizinnej, a wręcz depresyjnej Holandii, okazał się najlepszym góralem podczas ostatniej edycji „Kurierów”. A góry były najwyższe w najnowszej historii wyścigu, który po 30-stu latach wrócił do Popradu i w Wysokie Tatry.?
Tym wysoko w górach latającym Holendrem okazał się ?Gijs LEEMRIEZE z SENSA-KvK Cyclingteam. Zanim jednak wyścig zaczął się wspinać, to warto przypomnieć, że zawodnicy SENS-y: ?Joren BLOEM i ?Sam GADEMAN, zajęli odpowiednio drugie i trzecie miejsce podczas płaskiego i szybkiego prologu w Lublinie.
A nasz niderlandzki Janosik Gijs, od drugiego etapu, gdy zaczęły się wzniesienia, regularnie gromadził punkty niemal na wszystkich górskich premiach: cztery z nich wygrał, trzy razy był drugi i raz trzeci. Zgromadził ich w sumie 19 i aż o 6 punktów wyprzedził kolejnego zawodnika, na zawsze zabierając zieloną koszulkę lidera klasyfikacji górskiej.
W klasyfikacji indywidualnej generalnej Gijs zajął ostatecznie 11 miejsce, a jego drużyna była na mecie dziesiąta. SENSA-KvK Cyclingteam oczywiście stanie na starcie 37 edycji wyścigu, co potwierdził charyzmatyczny dyrektor sportowy ekipy Han Vaanhold.

Not an Austrian, not an Italian, not a Slovak and not a Pole, but a cyclist from lowland, or even depressive Netherlands, proved to be the best highlander during the last edition of the „Couriers”. And the mountains were the highest in the recent history of the race, which returned to Poprad and the High Tatras after 30 years.?
?Gijs LEEMRIEZE from SENSA-KvK Cyclingteam turned out to be that flying Dutchman high in the mountains. However, before the race began to climb, it is worth recalling that the SENSA competitors: ?Joren BLOEM and ?Sam GADEMAN, took second and third places respectively during the flat and fast prologue in Lublin.
And our Dutch ‘Janosik’ Gijs, from the second stage, when the hills began, regularly accumulated points on almost all mountain bonuses: four of them he won, three times he was second and once he was third. He collected 19 in total and overtook another cyclist by 6 points, taking the green jersey of the leader of the mountain classification until the end.
In the general individual classification Gijs took 11th place and his team was tenth at the finish. SENSA-KvK Cyclingteam will of course start at the 37th edition of the race, which was confirmed by the charismatic sport director of the team Han Vaanhold.
